The Wix Filters 250 marked the third stop on the USAR Pro Cup Series schedule Saturday night. The Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway event was a bit of a homecoming for Pro Cup rookie Ryan Heavner, who resides in nearby Lincolnton, NC.

Heavner received and overwhelming crowd response when introduced as the driver of the #14 Elite Auto Collision Chevrolet, as the fans in attendance cheered on their hometown favorite.

The 2010 season is all about new experiences for the 18 year old Kendell Lopez out of Independence, Mo.  Earlier in the season Kendell signed on with MPM Marketing and was able to secure a spot with Kirk May Racing based out of Athens, Georgia.  She will be driving their #14 late model in a touring season on the East Coast.  Following that, Lopez came back to Toyota Speedway at Irwindale to drive Tim Huddleston's #59 for just two races.

Ryan Heavner had never taken a green flag at New Smyrna (FL) Speedway before Saturday's USAR Pro Cup Crane Cams 250. That should be quite intimidating for a 14 year-old rookie in one of the country's top touring series, but Heavner was unshaken.

"Of course, all new tracks create new challenges, but being able to adapt is what makes a true driver in this sport," Ryan says.

Ryan Heavner and Kirk May Racing recently traveled to Jefferson, GA for Heavner's first USAR Pro Cup event hosted at Gresham Motorsports Park. The new driver for the #14 Elite Auto Collision team spent much of the off season conditioning both his body and mind for the longer 250 lap races after running mostly 50 lap races during the prior season with the Pro Challenge Series where he had much success.

Megan Reitenour has secured a position with Revolution Racing in NASCAR's elite program. Reitenour  had participated in the testing and evaluation combine back in October of 2009, where she was evaluated on her on-track performance and off-track interactions with coaches, program mentors and media personality. The official announcement from NASCAR will be released at Daytona International Speedway confirming Reitenour's selection for the team.

Jill George is no stranger to competition and this weekend at the world center of stock car racing will be no exception. George will drive the James Hylton owned #48 Dodge in the ARCA Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200. She will add to a large list of female entries at the first race of the season for the ARCA competitors. ARCA has historically been a proving ground for young and upcoming talent both male and female in the stock car world. The 2010 kickoff will be no different with several female drivers on the entry list including, Danica Patrick's debut onto the stock car scene.

This upcoming weekend, December 18-20, will find Jill George at the Daytona International Speedway practicing and testing an ARCA car for Andy Hillenburg Motorsports. Jill will also attempt to get her ARCA license for the 2010 season which will allow her to compete in ARCA events throughout the summer. "I was thrilled when Andy Hillenburg called and asked me to come to test and practice at Daytona. This is a great opportunity for me to continue to further my racing career and the experience and exposure will be invaluable as we move forward. I want to thank Andy for giving me this opportunity and I am hopeful to make the most of it, run some good laps and get my ARCA license. Then, we will see what comes of that."

Venturini Motorsports has announced the team's driver line-up for 2010 including a fulltime effort from Westlake, Louisiana driver Mikey Kile, slated to drive the no. 25 car for the entire ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards schedule.

The announcements were made during ARCA's annual Press Conference Saturday afternoon in Covington, Kentucky coinciding with the same-night ARCA Series championship awards banquet.

Reitenour models for the 27th annual cara charities fashion show
According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society website, MS is "a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves."

MS is a disease that is difficult to research, as its symptoms and severity vary so greatly from one patient to another. It causes a wide array of debilitating health concerns. There is currently no cure.

Talladega, AL - MPM went into the weekend looking for a sponsor for ARCA driver Grant Enfinger for the ARCA RE/MAX 250. They not only found a sponsor for Grant but they partnered up with Joe Nemechek for his Nationwide and Sprint Cup rides with the same sponsor. Maui Shower Company sponsored Grant in the ARCA race on Friday, and Joe on Saturday and Sunday.
Cassie Gannis will be speaking at the Auto Club's Teen Driving Safety Fair next week. This is going to happen before her race at Irwindale next week. She will be speaking on behalf of High Point Racing, Justice Brothers, AAA of Southern California and Race car Factory.

Twenty-six drivers from different forms of racing all over North America will showcase their skills in front of NASCAR team owners and executives at the sixth annual Drive for Diversity Testing & Evaluation Combine presented by Sunoco. The scouting event will take place October 13-14 at South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Va. This year's candidates were selected from more than 200 applicants from across North America. Fourteen of the drivers will earn a ride in NASCAR's developmental series for the 2009 season.

Among the 26 drivers chosen, are MPM's Megan Reitenour and Cassie Gannis.  MPM would like to congratulate these 2 young ladies on being chosen.  Good luck this weekend, we are very proud of you both!!

Xenia, OH - Due to the inclement weather conditions, qualifying for the Super Cup Stock Car Series was cancelled and the starting grid of the field was determined by the current point standings of the series.Reitenour started on the pole and was challenged several times but only relinquished the lead for 17 laps of the 100 lap event. This win marks the second win of the 2008 season for Reitenour and positions her in first place of the point standings of the series.

Drivers wishing to participate must be at least Fifteen years old and have parents permission in order to test. All participants must send a resume or statement of experience. Test to be held at a Super Cup track in July 08 Other qualified drivers may be offered the chance to compete in a Super Cup Race.

Megan Reitenour moving up in racing ranks

Racing first grabbed her interest at the age of two when she used to "race" in her pink Barbie Corvette. Her Dad placed pillows behind and underneath Megan, so she could reach the pedals of the car. At age four, she advanced to a Quad Runner, and eventually to a Quarter Midget at age five.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Super Cup Stock Car/ARCA Lincoln Welder racecar driver, Megan Reitenour models for CARA Charities Fashion Show. The 27th annual CARA Charities Fashion Show and luncheon will held on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the downtown Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis, IN. This event generally has 1,000+ in attendance and is one of the premier events that surrounds the Indianapolis 500 and the 500/Festival.

Reitenour was invited by Lyn St. James to appear as one of the Women in the Winner's Circle representative drivers and will be featured in the show. Other special honorees will include Helio Castroneves, Janet Guthrie, Lyn St. James, and Cody Unser. This year's show will also partner with Riley Hospital for Children by supporting the Riley mission of improving the health and well-being of children.
