FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – COLUMBIA, S.C. – (Feb. 28, 2019) – Jonathan Findley is preparing to embark on his first full season with the CARS Late Model Stock Tour and he’ll do so with support from the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation will appear on the hood of Findley’s No. 4 late model stock car throughout the CARS Late Model Stock Tour season, which begins on March 9 at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C.
The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation is named in honor of Jaclyn Murphy, who was diagnosed at the age of 9 with a medulloblastom, a malignant brain tumor. Murphy never let her diagnoses slow her down and she has since gone on to graduate New York’s Marist College with a Bachelors degree in communications.
Founded by the Murphy family, the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for children battling pediatric brain tumors and other childhood cancers and to raise awareness through their Adopt-A-Child, Safe on the Sidelines and Guardian Angel Programs. The Friends of Jaclyn Foundation has helped more than 800 families with brain tumors and other childhood cancers.
“I’m excited to be able to embark on my first season racing with the CARS Tour. To be able to represent the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation throughout the season across the Southeast is a true honor,” said 20-year-old Findley. “Jaclyn Murphy is an inspiration not just to me, but to so many people with cancer and brain tumors. I hope I can represent Jaclyn and the entire Murphy family throughout the year and put them in victory lane.”
