Fifteen-year-old Kody King started his racing career when he was just 6 years old by racing go-karts. He spent four years racing go-karts around the Midwest, earning 31 feature victories in eight different states. He also claimed the 2016 Midwest Dirt Kart Challenge Shootout championship and the 2017 O’Reilly National Indoor Karting Championship in the Pro Jr. 1 division.
After his successful stint racing go-karts, Kody began racing a Bandolero in 2017. In 2018 he put together his most successful season to date, earning eight victories in five different states while also earning a prestigious victory in the Bandolero portion of the King of the Highbanks event at Wisconsin’s Slinger Super Speedway.
In 2019 Kody had one of the best seasons of his young career. The native of Clear Lake, Iowa, earned a fourth-place finish in the overall INEX National Bandolero Bandit standings and his strong season-long performance in multiple states across the country was also enough for him to win the INEX Bandolero Bandit National Touring championship.
In 41 races across the United States in 2019, King earned 11 victories at six tracks in six states, including Minnesota, Texas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado and Michigan. He also earned 24 podium finishes and 32 top-five finishes.
Since then Kody has slowly progressed up the ranks in late model competition, starting with the CRA Jr. Late Model Series in 2020. He scored his first victory in a late model in 2021 at Hawkeye Down Speedway, which he backed up with a track championship there in 2022.
He formed a partnership with Pathfinder Chassis in 2023 that expanded in 2024 to include the entire ASA Midwest Tour schedule.
